Gex: Enter the Gecko is the first 3D game of the Gex franchise and, until recently, wasn’t available on the PlayStation Network for play on the PlayStation Vita, along with PS3 and PSP. It started as a 2D game, but quickly became 3D. The game spawned a trilogy on the PlayStation, and two of its games also released on the Nintendo 64. Gex was a bipedal, talking gecko whom loved to watch TV and fought against Rez, a villain that wished to control the population through their television sets. It spawned many similar games from different developers, such as Banjo-Kazooie, Spyro the Dragon, and more.Ĭrystal Dynamics, now the developer behind the Tomb Raider series, joined in this craze and started whipping out games in the “Gex” series. Pitting a character inside different worlds to complete tasks and collect objects that allowed you to traverse further into the game and having the trend repeat until they’d reached the Final Boss of the game. However, I haven't tested each of the 1400+ games and many of these roms may not work on specific emulators. This means that music and movies are removed, so games are smaller but still playable. Also, as the title says, these are "ripped" games, so not a pure "dump".
